Christy Purcell Memorial Run March 2016
On 20th March last the Forge Vintage club held the Christy Purcell Memorial Run. Registration took place in Foulksmills from 12 O clock. Just over 145 vehicles registered on the day. Shortly after one o clock our convoy left Foulksmils where we headed through bye roads to Cassagh where we had a short stop in Morrissey’s.
We then headed back a different route and arrived back in Foulksmills around 4pm where there was a large crowd to welcome us back. All participants were then given a delicious cooked meal in the Oak tree Foulksmills followed by a raffle.
After the meal we were entertained for the evening by the Rougues and a great day was had by all. Christy would have been very proud to see should large numbers out on the day.
The forge Vintage club would like to Alan Morrissey and his Staff, Larry, Mary and the Staff in the Oak tree for the lovely refreshments on the day. We would like to thank everyone who attended on the day from local farmers who would have worked with Christy, members from other vintage clubs, our own members and family and friends. Thanks also to Noel Cullen for the use of his yard to park all the vehicles and to anyone who donated raffle prises or donated on the day.
