Stevie Curtis Memorial Plough Match
On Sunday 19th February we got to hold our ploughing match after been postponed twice in memory of our dear friend and chairman Stevie.
The sun was shining down on us for the day and we were over whelmed with support from our sponsors and supporters on the day, without ye the day would not have been the success it was.
We would like to thanks our sponsors, competitors, the judges, the landowner, the ladies who kept us fed and watered and everyone who helped out on the day.
we would also like to thank the Curtis family – Stevie will never be forgotten, May he Rest in Peace

All vehicle Road Run
There will be an all vehicle road run on Sunday 16th October, registration in Clongeen hall from 11.30 with the run leaving at 1 o clock, All types of vehicles are all welcome on the day. All support would be great fully appreciated

The Forge vintage club will hold our annual Christy Purcell Memorial Road Run on Sunday 19th March.
We will hold our members overnight trip on Saturday 24-25 June.
Our final all vehicle road run for the year will be held on Sunday 27th August.

Christmas Party 2016
The Forge Vintage club will hold its annual christmas party and presentation of cheques night in the Oak Tree bar, Foulksmills on 3rd of December. This year we will be presenting €10000 to Hospice Homecare, Slaney Search and Rescue, Clongeen Parish towards their annual senior citizens party, Clongeen NS and Compassionate Friends.
There will be a buffett dinner served from 8.30 and then we will be entertained for the night by T-Bone Country. Tickets cost €15 and are on sale from any club member or Anne Sinnotts Shop. Charity Road Run Aug 16
Shortly after 1 o clock on Sunday our convey of tractors,cars and bikes left Foulksmills heading in the direction of Caoerigh and then onto the main road heading for Barntown where we made a short stop in Mary Joes pub. We were treated to soup and sandwiches here. After refuelling we then headed over the mountain and into Taghmon and back into Foulksmills. In the oak Tree bar we received a lovely dinner. We would like to thanks the staff in Mary Joes for there hospitality and also Larry,Mary and the staff in the oak tree for the lovely dinner. We also want to thank our marshals who got us around safely. We would like to thank all other vintage clubs who came out on the day and our own members. With such fine weather it was great to see so many people out, a lot of people have been busy with the harvest.
All monies raised this year will go to Hospice homecare and other local charities. Our chequers will be presented at the end of November we will keep you informed about this.
Our members road trip June 2016
Shortly after 9.30 on 26th June our convoy of tractors, bikes, cars, jeep and mini bus left Clongeen heading for Clonmel. We headed for New Ross where we had a short stop for tea coffee and breakfast rolls. We then headed on the main road and took a turn off for Glenmore, into Mullinavat and then on to Piltown where we stopped at Anthony’s Inn for dinner. After about an hour we continued on our journey on to Clonmel where we done a few laps of the town and then headed to the Clonmel Park Hotel where we parked up for the night. After freshening up and a bit to eat we headed into Clonmel for a bit of entertainment. We came across The Coach Man where a lot of laughs and dancing was had for the night.
Around eleven o clock the group meet up and we left Clonmel on our Journey home to Foulksmills. We had a stop in Mullinivat where we stopped in the Rising Sun to look at the Irish Soccer match and then back on the Road to Foulksmills. We arrived back around 6 o clock and we were very lucky with the weather for the weekend.
All money raised will go to Hospice homecare. All members had sponsorship cards, anyone who sponsored any of our members will be entered into a draw to Win €200 cash sponsored by Crosbie Transcar, A Power Washer sponsored by Mythen Construction, Dinner for 2 in the Horse and Hound sponsored by the Horse and Hound and Sunday Lunch for 2 sponsored with Whitford House Hotel. We would like to thank all our sponsors for their donations and also Markie and Anne Sinnott for the use of their bus. The draw will take place on Saturday 9th July and we will let you know the results after.
We would like to Thank everyone who helped make this trip such a success and a great weekend was had by all. All people wanted to know when we got back was where are we going next year.
Christy Purcell Memorial Run March 2016
On 20th March last the Forge Vintage club held the Christy Purcell Memorial Run. Registration took place in Foulksmills from 12 O clock. Just over 145 vehicles registered on the day. Shortly after one o clock our convoy left Foulksmils where we headed through bye roads to Cassagh where we had a short stop in Morrissey’s.
We then headed back a different route and arrived back in Foulksmills around 4pm where there was a large crowd to welcome us back. All participants were then given a delicious cooked meal in the Oak tree Foulksmills followed by a raffle.
After the meal we were entertained for the evening by the Rougues and a great day was had by all. Christy would have been very proud to see should large numbers out on the day.
The forge Vintage club would like to Alan Morrissey and his Staff, Larry, Mary and the Staff in the Oak tree for the lovely refreshments on the day. We would like to thank everyone who attended on the day from local farmers who would have worked with Christy, members from other vintage clubs, our own members and family and friends. Thanks also to Noel Cullen for the use of his yard to park all the vehicles and to anyone who donated raffle prises or donated on the day.
Christmas Party
Our Christmas party will be held on Saturday 28th November in The Oak Tree Bar, Foulksmills with a buffet dinner been served from 8.30 pm to 10pm. We will be entertained on the night by T-Bone Country. Presentations will be held on the night to our Charities for the year : St Lukes, Dublin, Clongeen NS and Wexford Marine Watch. We will have door prises and a raffle on the night. A great night is in store. Tickets are now on sale from any club member.
